I am often asked as to where I find some of the facilities I use on the Internet. Actually, its not that hard to find if you know how to search the Net and ask the right questions. But to help kick-start you in the right direction, I have assembled the following list of free computer resources available to you. Some are executable programs you can download and execute on the desktop, others are Internet specific services. So, whether you need something for your computer or to enhance your web site, the following list should be of help to you. To my knowledge, everything listed is free and not pirated. None of it is shareware or trial versions. I hope you will find them beneficial to you.

Adobe Acrobat Reader - to read popular PDF files

Adobe Flash Player - web browser plugin

Adobe Photoshop Album Starter Edition - for digital photography

Adobe Shockwave Player (formerly Macromedia) - web browser plugin

AOL Safety and Security Center - includes Spyware

Apple iPod iTunes - media content

Apple QuickTime - media viewer

Blogger - blogging service from Google.

Calendars.Net - calendar for inclusion in your web site. Allows you to put in a single date, a duration event (2 of more days in length), or a periodic date (e.g. the third Tuesday of the month)

Dynamic Drive - library of DHTML and JavaScript code

FedEx Track Shipments

Frappr - plot your members on a global map

Geneology.com - family tree maker

Google - add your URL to the search engine

Google Earth - satellite imagery, great for checking on a destination (Gee, didn't Francis Gary Powers get shot down for this?)

Google Image Search - for graphics

Google Language Tools - for translation

Google News - subscribe for current events (use keywords: Freemasonry, Frreemasons, Masons, Masonry)

Google Toolbar - for Firefox (and Internet Explorer)

Java (Sun Microsystems) - to implement this powerful and portable programming language

Java Boutique - a collection of Java tools

JavaScript Source - library of JavaScript code

Jumbo! - freeware/shareware library

Maps on Us - map building facility

MapQuest - map building facility

Microsoft Excel Viewer 2003 - for spreadsheets

Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool - spyware

Microsoft PowerPoint Viewer 2003 - for graphics (PPT files)

Microsoft PowerPoint Viewer 2007 - for graphics (PPT files)

Microsoft Windows Internet Explorer - web browser

Mozilla - cross-platform web browser; includes the Firefox browser and Thunderbird e-mail (excellent; puts MS I.E. and Outlook Express to shame)

Site Meter - web counter (allows you to monitor the "hits" to your site)
