Creating the Philosophers Stone – Winter newsletter ’09

Welcome to another edition of the quarterly newsletter from Freemason Information.

As I pen this letter, winter is still in among us as we slide into early March.  This edition is coming a little later than expected, but only for the reason that there has been a lot of change and development going on that I think you will be very excited to see.

After a make over, the Freemason Information website has become Freemason Information Magazine, which is the new digital web only magazine about the fraternity.  What makes this so exciting are the new formatting that website has taken while in addition to retaining all of its past information on the fraternity it has added some new elements to the line up.  Joining the team are several familiar favorites from the web publishing world including Br. Fred Milliken of the Bee Hive, Br. Stephen Dafoe from Templar History, and Br. Michael Halleran of Aude Vide Tace.  Also joining us is Terence Satchell on the new column The Banks of the Euphrates, as well as my good friend and Brother Dean Kennedy who is taking on the reins of the new Masonic Technology section.  We also have a new column, Sojourners, that will be publishing regularly by guest contributions and republishing past favorites from Br. Tim Bryce.  The beauty of this new format is that now you, our readers, can interact and contribute to the mix with your comments and thoughts.

The goal is to make this website as informative and enlightening as possible while being as interactive and approachable as imaginable.  No longer is it merely the posting of word to static page.  You can tell us what you think, and we want to hear it.

And, if that isn’t enough, the weekly Pod Cast Masonic Central has moved under the same roof as a feature section bringing you new programs right to your browser.  With the new face lift comes the benefit of interactivity too and now you can listen to the shows right from the site within the post.  So, listen to your favorite show and leave us a comment to tell us what you think.

This is just a taste of what’s coming up in 2009, but we needed to make the vehicle of the message as strong as possible to make sure it really hit home.

So with the thawing of the winter chill, I hope you can spend some time and see that we’ve been smoldering away in the lab to make the philosophers stone into a tangible thing, and I think were one step closer to it with this site.  In fact, you can jump right over to the site here and let us know what you think about it in our site newsletter archive.  Drop by and say hello, and start to experience the new FmI magazine.

Thanks for being a part of the journey thus far, and I want to re-invite you to come and spend some time with us again at Freemason Information.

Warm Regards,
Br. Greg Stewart
